JUNGLE DESTINATIONS

The amazon region is located in the oriental region of Los Andes. It is part of the Amazon, and filled with a great majority of animal habitats.The diversity that is found in this region cannot be found anywhere else in the planet, that is why it has become a favorite destination for scientists of the world. Ecuador has three of the ten Hot Spots of biodiversity. Nearly 70% of all the plant species meaure 60 meters high. Also, 7% of the tropical forest is flooded and it contains 50% of the species that exist in the zone.This region possesses the following natural areas: Cuyabeno, Panochoa, and Sumaco

CUYABENO
Cuyabeno is located in the Eastern part of the Ecuadorian Amazon and is one of the most beutiful reserves in Ecuador. The spectacular flora and fauna in this area have some of the highest levels of diversity in the world, however there are many species that have not yet been identified. Hopefully, they will soon be discovered. In some areas live many indigenous people including the Secoyas, Huahoranis, Sionas and Cofanes. On a visit to this region, you could enjoy the untouched forest and delight in your view of the flora and fauna. You could also travel in a canoe, and share the typical dishes with the indigenous people.

PROGRAMS

PLAN A
4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS

DAY 1.First we will arrive by bus or airplane to Lago Agrio, then we will go by bus to the reserve control. We will go canoing in the Cuyabeno river until we arrive to the forest and our campsite.

DAY 2.Early in the morning we will have breakfast and then we will go to the jungle with a guid who explain the natural power of the plants. In the afternoon we will have lunch and then go fishing. After this we will return to our campsite and have dinner.

DAY 3. We will have breakfast and then visit an indigenous community, where we will see the Shaman. After that we will have lunch. In the afternoon we will walk around the indigenous community and then have dinner at night.

DAY 4.Very early in the morning we will have breakfast and then go canoing. Later we will take a bus to Lago Agrio, where we will return to Quito by bus or airplane.

PLAN B:
5 DAYS 4 NIGHTS


DAY 1.Depart from Quito on a direct flight to Lago Agrio, then drive in a  car for approximately 30 minutes until we reach the Cuyabeno River. There we will explore the flora and fauna for nearly three hours. <>

DAY 2.<> In the morning we will walk through the forest with an indigenous guide who will give us a tour. In the afternoon we will continue our tour in the Igapo (flooded forest), while also enjoying  the games of the ping dolphins and practicing fishing for piraņas. Then we will return to the camp.

DAY 3.<> A spectacular day's visit with the family of a native, Siona. After a short walk we will have lunch and then return to the camp by canoe.
At night we could admire lizards.<>  <>

DAY 4.<> We will have a short walk in the morning. In the afternoon we will swim in the lake and then walk to admire some birds.<>  <>

DIA 5.<> After breakfast we will go to the airport in Lago Agrio, and from there return to Quito.

PLAN C:
7 DAYS / 6 NIGHTS


DAY 1.We will arrive in Lago Agrio by plane. Then we will have lunch, and travel from the port to Chiritza by canoe to visit Shushufindi. At night we will have dinner.
DIA 2.-Shushufindi /Lagartococha. Early in the morning we will go to Lagartococha by canoe. Lunch will be on board, at the campsite we will have dinner.
DAY 3.Complete day in Lagartococha
DAY 4.Redondo Cocha / Cocha Dolphin Redondo. Cocha is one of the series of lagoons of Lagartococha River.

This is an area with a great amount of animals and vegetables; giant armadillos, fish line, boa, parrots, dolphins, manatees, turtles, piraņas etc. Lunch at the camp. At night we will go out to see some caiman, then return to the camp for dinner.
DAY 5.Cuyabeno / indigenous community.We will continue the visit to the village, lunch on the road. In the afternoon we will visit Cofan, an indigenous community, where we will have the opportunity to see how they live. We will have dinner at the camp.
DIA 6.San Pablo de Katesiya/ San Pablo. In the morning we will go to San Pablo de Kantesiya, home of the native Secoyas. Later we will have lunch and then walk through the forest of San Pablo, then return to the camp for dinner.
DAY 7.Chiritza / Lago Agrio / Quito After breakfast we will return to the port of Chiritza in canoe, then travel to Lago Agrio to return to Quito.
